OUR STORY

Preen didn’t begin in a boardroom or with a perfectly written plan.

It began in the gentle, ordinary moments of real life.

At the kitchen table, with a lukewarm cup of coffee, a notebook full of half-formed ideas, and a little girl asking for “just one more cuddle.” It began in the spaces between being a mum, running a business, and believing there had to be a softer way to do beauty.

I’m Emily. A mum, a makeup artist, a woman who has spent years sitting across from other women and hearing the same quiet sentences spoken in different voices:

“I don’t really know how to do makeup.”

“I don’t want to look too done.”

“I just want to look like… me.”

And every time, something in me whispered:

What if makeup didn’t have to feel complicated? What if it could just make you feel good?

Preen grew from that thought — from the desire to make beauty easy, wearable, and deeply personal.

Though I’m the one you’ll see talking to the camera, Preen is very much a family-built story.

Matthew, my husband, has been the quiet constant behind every decision.

The voice of reason, the late-night box packer, the one reminding me that dreams don’t have to be loud to be powerful. He’s steadiness and belief stitched into the foundation of this brand.

And Esme —

my little girl with the bright eyes and the biggest heart.

She’s the joy in the middle of it all.

The reason soft matters.

The reminder that confidence, comfort, and kindness are things we can pass on.

Preen is built so she grows up in a world where beauty feels safe and welcoming — not something she has to earn.
